I found this a totally different shoe to Pegasus of previous years. The 40, I quite liked for either wearing all day or a short run. These felt less responsive, overly soft, and very hard to run mid/forefoot in...a little like the Invincible 3. To my mind the Vomero 17 has the edge in getting a bit back from the shoe.

Hi Nick. You often mention achilles irritation - what specifically is the issue; rubbing or something within the tendon itself? I often get achilles rubbing issues with carbon-plated shoes due to their stiffness causing my heel to lift. Thanks 🙂

I think I always found the forefoot area a bit flat....no cushion and as you say not great transition...I ran in Pegs for years but now i wear Invincible 3... I need something responsive for quicker sessions, and as much as this shoe is tempting I still feel itll be flat.

This or Adidas Supernova Rise?

I’m also keen to try these as I would classify myself as a ‘cadence’ runner but only because I don’t have a huge stride. I quicken my steps as I get faster rather than extend my stride. Seems odd most reviewers who are the same seem to prefer the Sky Paris. I saw Nick’s review of the previous Edge and he preferred the Sky also. Shame Asics have removed them from their website!

How do you guys compare this to the Trabuco Max 3? Or do anyone ever compare?

dayad 11 had much better insoles than ghost max.. you can replace the insoles

I just ordered some Boston 12s yesterday as they were on sale. My game plan for my upcoming half marathon prep is the Speed 3s for my shorter/speed days and then the Bostons for my long runs. Endorphin Pro 4s for race day.

glad to hear that they're good for easy and long runs as well since right now I am searching for a good daily trainer that I can also use for my speedy training days. been getting recommended the Clifton 9s a lot but I think the lighter Mach 6s will be better for me. thank you for the review.

Dreadful, only did a few training runs in the Ghost Max and ended up with a glute injury that required physio treatment. I normally run in Ghost , current model Ghost 15, a great shoe and I shall be returning to the Ghost 16 when it becomes available.

Have both, and both are great! They are light and breathable, you really feel that when it's hot. Coming from Supernova or Adistar, I have found Boston 12 a little harder, thought that should help the performance. I use Adios for sprints and fast short runs, on tracks and treadmills. I use Boston for any race or serious training over 12k.

Thanks for the awesome video content. I prefer traditional stability running shoes due to over pronation (Medial post etc..) Kayano 29 was my favorite shoe for this but the Kayanos have changed a lot. In the current market which is the closest shoe to the Kayano 29? (NB 860 V12, Gt 2000 12 perhaps?)

I have my Marathon PB in the original Prime X. Totally missed the Prime X Strung, now hard to find and have to pay up for it. May just get the latest Strung 2, although it's clearly different, but may carry me through a marathon even better. Was also interested in the Metaspeed Sky Paris from ASICS but so hard to find stock on that shoe right now!!!

Does your 5k parkrun in the Nike vaporfly ever include partially running (say 400m out of the 5km) on grass or in the woods? If so, how are they?

Distinction between cadence-runners and stride-runners doesn't make sense to me. Slow cadence is just strictly bad, and wider-stride is bad running style anyway.

Boston 12 gave me runner’s knee every time i use it, sold mine and went for asics nova 4. Never buying again from adidas.

These are advertised as softer cushioning than the 30s. What do y'all think? I tried the 30s and found they were a little too firm under the heel for me

Right on time! I managed to get my hands on a pair earlier this week, and am absolutely blown away by them!

I got the edge paris on release day and it is very similar to the VF3. I prefer the Edge plus to both.

I think you should be calling out ASICS on this one as the shoe is sold out and their Customer Service point blank refuse to say if it will be stocked again or when if it will be. They have made great shoes for the metaspeeds to be sold out - reviewers have caused this and should be saying to brands that they wont review unless they can satisfy their customers

I appreciate your review. I've searched everywhere for stock of the edge Paris for a few weeks now. You can only seem to get them if your willing to pay way over the RRP :(
